PRIVATE BRIDAL COMMISSIONS

A PRIVATE COMMISSION
With each private commission, the woman becomes the starting point for a new work. Her silhouette, her presence, her desires and what she inspires all inform the creation.
From this encounter, Camille Barrès conceives a unique piece, developing its form, materiality and language. The creation evolves until it finds an identity of its own, through a dialogue between the artist’s vision and the woman who will wear it.
The resulting work is intimately connected to the woman for whom it was created, while remaining unmistakably part of Camille Barrès’ artistic language.
THE EXPERIENCE
A private commission unfolds over time. From the first conversation to the final adjustments, each stage allows the work to take shape in relation to the woman who will wear it.
Camille Barrès personally accompanies each creation. Conversations, research and fittings form an intimate process, allowing the work the time it needs to find its form.
THE ENCOUNTER
Everything begins with a private conversation with Camille Barrès — about you, your wedding and what you imagine. This first encounter is an opportunity to discover your project and determine whether it can find its place within the artistic language of the Maison.
THE CREATION
Once the commission is confirmed, the research process begins. Drawings, lines and materials gradually give form to the creation.
The first proposals are presented to the client, after which Camille personally guides her through the measurement process in preparation for the first fitting.
THE FITTINGS
Three private fittings accompany the creation of each work. Conceived as three successive stages, they allow the work to take shape on the body and gradually reach its final balance.
THE TOILE
The first fitting brings the creation onto the body for the first time. Made in an initial toile, it allows Camille to refine the lines, volumes and proportions before working in the final materials.
The materials selected for the creation are also presented during this appointment.
THE MATERIAL
At the second fitting, the creation takes form in its final materials. Its silhouette can now be fully perceived, while certain elements remain open, allowing Camille to refine its balance and movement.
THE FINAL FITTING
The creation is now nearing completion. This final appointment allows its overall presence and movement to be experienced, and the last adjustments to be made before the work returns to the atelier for its finishing touches.
Savoir-faire
Each work is created individually by Camille Barrès, from the earliest research through to the final finishing touches.
Materiality occupies an essential place within her artistic language. Silks, transparencies, drapery and volume are shaped in service of the line, movement and intention of each creation.
Every element is held to the same standard: only what fully contributes to the work remains.
